Adobe has just officially announced that they will no longer offer the Flash apk for Android. Android 4.0 was suspiciously missing the feature and we later on found out that Adobe had no plans to offer Flash for ICS. But after overwhelming demand, the company decided to release the service anyway.

We’ve known for quite some time now that Flash wouldn’t be around for much longer on mobile devices due to the growth of HTML5. Adobe doesn’t recommend installing Flash on Jelly Bean devices as it hasn’t been tested for Android 4.1 and could leave your device open for attacks.

On August 15th, Flash will no longer be available for download in the Google Play Store. You can still download and install the app and leave on your device for when you need it and it will be updated accordingly. After the 15th you will not be able to download the app through official means. Flash has been a huge advantage for Android and it’s been an f8un ride but it’s finally time for all of us to embrace the future with HTML5.
