Good news for all you potential Streak owners, the Android 2.1 update has been leaked and it’s ready for download now. It’s a pretty simple upgrade, most users should be able to pull it off with no problem. The files you need can be found at Modaco’s forum.
All you need to do is download the .apk available through various links in this MoDaCo thread, rename it Update.pkg, transfer it to the root directory on the Streak’s microSD card, hold the volume up and down buttons while turning the device on to boot into recovery mode, and select option 2. Then just sit back for a few minutes while the Streak does its thing. Before you know it, it boots back up with that sweet Eclair slathered all over it.
