If you’re waiting for an official update from your device manufacturer to Android 4.1, you might want to root you’re device and follow the progress of the Cyanogenmod team. They’ll surely be able to pump out the update fast quicker than the official build and they will most likely port the update to devices that will never get Android 4.1 officially.
