This is a familiar sight for those of you keeping score of the smartphone market share. So far this year Android has taken more than 51% of the smartphone market share. That’s yet another quarter that we’ve seen Android grow and most of their competitors lose ground. Apple is still hanging around with a minimal gain of only 1.1% and holding on to 30.7% of the total devices sold. Samsung has taken over the number one phone manufacturer spot accounting for 26% of the devices sold. With the Samsung Galaxy S 3 being announced in the next few days, their lead might actually get even larger if Samsung can hit it out the park once again.
