So far only the 32 model of the 5 upcoming Archos tablets is the only one available for sale. The 32 so far hasn’t received a warm welcome, let’s be honest it’s hard to call a 2.8 and 3.2 inch screen device a tablet. Archos would’ve done better by calling them what they are PMP’s.
A lucky user was able to get his hands on an Archos 43 tablet ahead of its launch. This device features a 4.3 inch resistive touch screen, 8GB of internal storage, a kickstand, 720p video capture and an HDMI out. It runs Android 2.2 and has a 1GHZ ARM Cortex A8 at 1 GHz with DSP with graphic acceleration done by 3D OpenGL ES 2.0. There’s also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, if you want an Android 2.2 device that’s not tied to a carrier this is a great choice.
It’s small enough to be ultraportable but it’s large enough to be considered a tablet. This device could be released anytime between now and the end of October. It will retail for $199 and is a great web and multi-media device.
