RockPlayer now has a little competition on their hands with the release of this app. It’s called arcMedia and is a video player that is capable of playing aac, ac3, divx, flv4, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, PCM, RealVideo, Vorbis, xvid, asf, avi, mkv, mov, mp3, mp4, ogg, rmvb, wav, wma and wmv. That’s a whole bunch of formats, it plays them pretty well. This is a free app available now in the Android Market and only requires Android 1.6. It’s still in beta and is a little rough around the edges. This is definitely an app to keep an eye on. For now RockPlayer has a leg up on it.
