There’s a few blaring issues with the ASUS Transformer Prime that users have been worried about since receiving their shiny new toy. First and foremost we’ll get the bad news out of the way. It looks like the GPS issue is just something you’re going to have to deal with. ASUS admitted that the GPS radio in the device isn’t up to par. And the metal casing of the device doesn’t do much to help the situation.
Now on to the good news, there will be a bootloader unlock tool released. Once you unlock you’re devices bootloader your warranty will be void and you will not be available to download certain content from the market. All of these issues are expected and shouldn’t be much of a surprise for most of us that know anything about Android modding.
And finally, ICS will be released for the device real soon. January 12th is big date to be exact. The update should bring many improvements to the slate and it will finally be the device all of us wanted it to be at launch. That is, with the exception of what could be the worst implementation of GPS on any Android device.
