The Droid 2 has just been photographed running Android 2.2. Is this just a test device or is it the retail version? It’s tough to tell but this looks legit. Android 2.2 being preinstalled would be a welcome addition to this phone. Since its not being released until late August, it does make sense that it would have Froyo already installed. This handset has the same version of MotoBlur that is on the Droid X. it may also have the same locked down bootloader as well. The person who leaked this image said the phone is noticeably faster than the X and that may be because it has 2.2 already installed. I’m sure they’ll be another leak of the Droid 2 so stay tuned.
