Besides being unstable, the biggest complaint about the Firefox Android browser was speed. It’s now just as fast as the stock browser thanks to the latest update. This update can be downloaded here and it brings many well needed improvements. And if you’re running Android 2.2, it’s about around 25% faster on the SunSpider Javascript benchmark than the stock browser. The next update should bring hardware acceleration which should make it even faster. Hopefully they figure out how-to limit the size of the app. in the next update as well.
