Social messaging, the way it should be. LONDON, UK — INQ’s new Facebook®-integrated Android™ phone range will be the world’s first to come embedded with the text prediction technology behind SwiftKey, TouchType announced Thursday.
The INQ Cloud Touch and INQ Cloud Q, unveiled today by the London-based social phone manufacturer, will have TouchType’s Fluency™ Prediction Engine embedded into the stock keyboard. The INQ Keyboard, developed by TouchType in partnership with INQ, offers Fluency’s groundbreaking next-word predictions as you type.
Coupled with the INQ Cloud’s deep Facebook integration, the INQ Keyboard provides an unrivalled social messaging experience. The technology underpinning it understands the relationship between words to offer highly accurate predictions that learn as you type, to offer a personal prediction experience, in your own writing style.
TouchType CEO Jon Reynolds said: “We are very proud to have partnered with INQ, a fellow UK-based company who are leading the charge with social mobile. We see a real growth in text communication on smartphones, and there’s no better way to enhance this experience than from the keyboard up.“
The Cloud Touch and Cloud Q are the first Android phones to integrate with Facebook to offer one-touch links on the home screen to Facebook Chat, Friends, Messages, Wall and Notifications. The phones are also the first mobiles to use the Facebook social graph API, making it easy for people to follow updates from the friends they interact with most.
TouchType’s CTO Ben Medlock said: “With this phone, sending messages is so much more than entering characters into a keyboard. We are talking about communicating effortlessly with people who mean the most to you, wherever you are, in a way that’s truly personal. These beautifully designed INQ phones integrate with our language technology to provide an unrivalled social messaging experience.”
Ken Johnstone, INQ co-founder and Products and Design Director said: “INQ has always looked to make messaging smarter and easier for our customers. It’s fundamental to our mission. We’ve loved the work TouchType have been doing and it was great to find a fellow UK-based business sharing a similar vision.”
Reynolds added: “This partnership represents a major step forward for TouchType, and underlines our product leadership position. INQ have recognized the power of Fluency, our unique contextual prediction technology, and the announcement of this partnership caps of an incredible start to 2011 for us.”
