Perhaps just a new forum such as "News leads" or something like that would do, and make it clear that any posts in that might be stolen and reworked for the featured articles on the front page.

That actually seems like a pretty good idea, I'm down for it.

Any objections, modifications, additions from any one else?

Dj, knows a bit more on how the blog/frontpage is set up... It's set to auto post in the news section. But if that's by account, maybe we could set up my account to auto post into the article forum automatically or something like that...

Sounds good, we can just make the new forum as suggested first. Getting phpbb3 to play nice with wordpress is a mf'er, I'll see if I can get it to reverse post to wordpress sometime this weekend.

If we wrote it, we would only have to do wp to phpbb. I saw we stick with that and Just have another account like the mixer one that only posts to the user submitted articles forum that we make ..

That would be easier wouldn't it?

Better yet, we can make a new from the forum forum and we can copy the article from there to the frontpage and credit the author.

Ended up pretty much falling asleep as soon as i got home from work....

So I'm thinking in the news forum (a new separate forum in that section) called Member Contributed Articles (or something similar) and we set up a stickied top thread explaining that this section is for articles written by the user about any subject they feel will benefit the site's users, be it: news, a guide/tutorial, whatever...

If we decide that it is a good enough article, we'll post it up in the blog while giving the author full credit...

Though i admit, I'd rather do the opposite somehow... Have "potential" articles in their normal sections, but once they are "Accepted" they are posted in the blog under not androidmixer, but maybe something like MixersMembers and that auto posts into a new forum in the new member contributed articles section "highlighting" it by it being more exclusive. If we do that we can just put up a global announcement, explaining/asking for user contributed stuff...

I gotta say i like the second scenario there a lot better.
