As title... just installed it. Benchmarks show it speeds up the phone by 25%. No need for lag fix any more. All current one-click roots no longer work as the USB Debugging exploit they all used has been patched in 2.2.1 (this applies to other phones too).

Try super-once click root. It'll root anything. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682

Alas, I think that uses the USB Debugging exploit too. There's a few people on the last few pages of that thread that are saying it doesn't work with JPY. E.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos ... count=1748

The thing is, the people it hasn't worked for have not reported it not working, they're reported it really screwing their phones up, so I'm going to wait a while rather than trying them.

I tried z4root (as that's what I used a month ago), but it just hung saying it was rooting forever. Rebooted and tried again. Same problem.

To be honest I'm in no rush to root. I only use root for ad blocking and AutoStarts to prevent crap loading all the time. All of the apps tweaked by AutoStarts before I lost root are still tweaked... it's just whenever you update an app it reverts to it's default startup settings. I'm sure XDA will find a one-click solution in a few days. They always do.

U ever try startup manager? It can stop things from loading at boot even system apps without the need for root.

Nope - I'll check that out. Thanks for the info.

You know that's part of the problem with Android (and the iPhone). There's now so many apps it's hard to find the ones you want, even with the likes of App Brain and App Aware.

I see that this does startup apps... but does it do other events too? For example, the Gallery app and Music app start every time the media scanner runs, Layar runs every time an app is updated.
