I think a new thread has the advantage that people can comment on just that thread, even if it doesn't make the front page.

I'm just hoping it doesn't become a general everything forum.

Eventually we'll get it fine tuned, right now there are still some kinks in the plans.

Haven't forgotten about this either. After the new design is up I'll begin work on a real implementation if this. I'm going to try and have the member submitted thread post to the blog under member contribution category. This is kind if tricky because phpbb and Wordpress don't like communicating for some reason but I think I can get it done how eX originally wanted it to work.
