Expect this update to come around the same time as the Honeycomb update for tablets. Google is now planning on adding a native eReader app to Android called Google editions. This service will be similar to B&N and the Kindle app. It will allow Android users to download digital books right to their Android device. Like all Google Apps your device, it will be tied to you Gmail account so no matter what device you move to, your books will come along for the ride as well. This is a welcome addition to Android and it’s expected to be available in Q1 2011.
