Rumors about the new Nexus devices are starting to heat up as we get closer to Nexus season. The latest rumors suggest that Google will be opening up the Nexus program to more manufacturers. The new requirements to join the Nexus program includes limited skinning of the device, option to go full on stock Android and specific hardware requirements that includes 64MB of secure storage for media streaming.
This change in the program fits right in with the rumors we’ve been hearing about 5 or more Nexus devices launching this fall. LG is prepping a Nexus version of the Optimus G. it will be called the LG Optimus G Nexus and it will ship with Android 4.2. None of this information has been confirmed and probably won’t be until we get closer to the launch of the new Nexi but this is exciting stuff. If the LG Optimus G does join the Nexus line, I’ll be one of the first to grab one. Unless a S4 Pro version or Exynos 5xx quad-core device from Samsung will be joining the Nexus family.
