Remember when we first heard about Google TV and its set-top-boxes? We got so excited here at AndroidMixer that we decided to be the first site to give away the first Google TV product, the Logitech Revue. Since then it seems the interest in Google TV products have taken a dive. It seems none of the Google TV products are doing well as far as sales goes. This is mainly due to a small variety of content available. Google TV might have multimedia restrictions placed on it then any Android based system available.
Google isn’t going to sit quietly on the sidelines and go down without a fight. According to BusinessInsider, Google will introduce an entirely new version of Google TV at Google I/O next week. This update will include a new UI, faster processors and a boatload of new apps. I for one hope Google TV takes off in a big way and don’t forget, we’ll be at the event bringing all the onsite coverage you need.
