The rumors can now be put to bed on this one. HTC finally unveiled their latest device and it’s a monster. The HTC J Butterfly is now official and it features an industry leading display for smartphones. It’s the first to feature a 1080p display and its measures in at 5 inches and that’s not all, it features next-gen SLCD3 technology.
It’s powered by a quad-core S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHZ, 2GB of RAM, NFC, 8MP camera and it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. There’s also a built-in TV tuner, IR blaster, 2.020mAh battery, IPX5 waterproofing, microSD card slot and its only 9.1mm thick. HTC is swinging for the fences on this one and we like it.
AU/KDDI will be getting the device first in Japan. There’s no word on when it or a variation of this device make its way stateside. There’s still a chance that this device or something similar will join the ranks of Nexus. That’s yet to be seen but for now we’ll just enjoy what we have here.
