If the current crop of single core Atom based processors released in Android devices doesn’t float your boat, the new Clover Trail based chips might be what you’re waiting for. You may know that Intel now makes Medfield chips for Android devices. Unfortunately these are single core chips in a world where multi-core chips are dominate in the market. Intel has managed to get the power consumption and heating issues under control in using their multi-core chips for Android. It’s said that the Clover trail chips will use 20 times less power than the Medfield chips. You can expect to see these new chips in devices in the coming months.
