You ever wanted to cook your own Rom for your handset but lacked the skills necessary to get the job done? RomKitchen offers you the next best thing to building it yourself. This online tool allows anyone from a novice to a ROM building expert to make their own ROM for the Galaxy S and the Captivate.
When you visit RomKithen’s site, you’ll be prompted to select your device. Once you’re in the generator the fun can begin. There’s an option for various stock ROM’s that will come in handy when you need to ship your phone back for repairs. These ROM’s have to be flashed using the stock recovery image.
You can also choose to build something completely custom. There’s an option to choose which CSC you want to start from. Then you can pick your kernel, modem, boot animations, apps and even various different themes. There are also custom notifications and sounds as well as various other options to tweak your device even further.  After you’ve tweaked the Rom to your liking, there will be a QR Code to download the Rom directly to your device as well as a download link.
This is a great tool to have and it’s extremely powerful. The developers were even nice enough to make it freely available for us all. Be sure to donate to Stefunel and DocRambone for all of their efforts in creating this.
