The other day we learned that there are 1.3 million Android devices being activated every day. That number included 70,000 Android tablets. For comparisons sake, there are around 188,000 iPad activations a day. Keep in mind the Android tablet figures doesn’t includes devices from Barnes & Noble and Amazon’s Kindle Fire. If you include every Android device that doesn’t ship with Google’s apps out the box, the number could be well over the 100,000 mark.
If things continue on this path there will be roughly 70 million iPad’s activated this year compared to around 27 Million Android devices. Once the new Amazon family of slates is released this year and other none-Google sanctioned tablets, there could be nearly 40 million Android devices on the streets. Don’t look now Apple but you’re stronghold on the tablet market is quickly coming to an end.
