Samsung’s next Galaxy S device will surely be a huge selling handset once it officially hits the streets. The device might not be ready to make an appearance but the rumors about features and more have been leaking for the past month or two. According to a leaked playbook for Sprint, we’re not far from the release of the red Nexus 5. If the leak is real, we should be able to pick up the device in the new color on February 4th. Not much is known about this device since Google hasn’t officially announced it. From the looks of things it will be available for at least Sprint. We’re not sure if a T-Mobile and AT&T compatible version will be announced. We could see the same compatibility and pricing as the original Nexus 5. Read the rest of this entry »


The Google Glass team is on the move again. This time the team will be taking Glass to Atlanta for a few days. On February 8th-9th you can try out Google Glass for yourself. The weekend event will be held at The Foundry at Puritan Mill. You can try out Glass between the hours of 10:00a.m. and 6:00p.m. on both days. Logic Instrument and Archos has just announced a new partnership that will bring a few new rugged and secure devices for specialized markets. Logic Instrument is targeting the Enterprise and Industry and Defense segments with the launch of their new devices. There’s a rugged water and dust resistant tablet for Industry and Defense customers. Enterprise users will be getting a secure tablet and a few handsets. Google’s sale of Motorola to Lenovo came as a surprise to us all. The sale is still fresh in our thoughts and new rumors of a Nexus device from Lenovo has started to surface. Fans of the colorful TPU cases for the Nexus 5 might have another more permanent option coming soon. Images of a red Nexus 5 has leaked yet again. This time around a full gallery of images made their onto Twitter. The leak shows the device in the box, out the box and even the box itself. If this is a Photoshop job someone has way too much time on their hands. This is all but official, we just need Google or LG to chime in now. T-Mobile just announced the release date for two great devices from LG. both the LG Optimus F3Q and LG G Flex for T-Mobile will be available on February 5th. The G Flex might turn out to be the more popular of the two as it features a 6 inch flexible display with 720p resolution. It also has a 13MP shooter on the rear and you can get for $0 down and 24 payments of $28. If you’ve been waiting for a new QWERTY device to launch, the LG Optimus F3Q is your device. We might be close to the Nokia Normandy hitting the streets. A place holder page has just shown up for the device on a Vietnamese gadget shop. According to the site, the handset features a 4 inch display, Android 4.4, 1GHz dual-core processor and a 5MP camera. Nokia is known for launching low cost devices so these specs fall in line with that model. Nokia could be looking to make a splash in the entry-level Android market. The numbers are in for the global market share and our favorite OS has not only maintained its lead but gained even more ground. Android closed out Q4 2013 pumping out an amazing 69.5% of all smartphone sales across 12 key markets. Apple on the other hand has lost ground and the company gave away 2.2% of sales in Europe alone. We normally steer clear from posting any patent nonsense on our site but this is an interesting one that doesn’t seem as bad as the title may lead. Google has been found guilty of infringing on a push notification patent held by SimpleAir. Both GCM and C2DM services are Google’s services that handle notification for Google products and Android. Both have been found to infringe on the patent and Google could shell out north of $125 million. They could also settle just like Apple, Blackberry and Microsoft did in the past with the patent holder. Read the rest of this entry »
