
ASUS announced that the Transformer Pad TF300 will be receiving an update to Android 4.2. You should be able to pull the update now by checking for it from the settings menu. If it isn’t available for your device yet, it will make it your way by the end of the month. This is the first tablet to receive an update to Android 4.2 outside of a Nexus slate. Sony just announced that the unlocked version of the Xperia ZL will be making its way to the US. There’s a new red color option and the device will lose waterproofing but other than that, it’s the same device Sony released internationally. The 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro, 5 inch 1080p HD Reality Display and 13MP camera all remains intact. Samsung released a promotional video for the Galaxy S 4 earlier today and now one of its features may have been exposed ahead of its official unveiling. According to the New York Times, the device will feature eye scrolling. This new technology will allow users to navigate through their device without the need of touching it. Samsung will employ some sort of magic that will scroll paragraphs on websites according to your eye movement. This sounds like one cool piece of technology and if Samsung can implement it, it’ll be a great feature. This is essentially the next step of Samsung’s Smart Stay feature that will allow the screen to stay on as long as you’re looking at the handset. Read the rest of this entry »

The CyanogenMod team just dropped off a nice gift for those of us who own one of the devices listed below. They’ve launched CM10.1-M2 and this build brings Android 4.2.2 to your device. There’s over 20 devices supported for this build and that includes the Nexus Q. most of these devices might not ever receive and update Jelly Bean yet alone Android 4.2.2. T-Mobile just kicked off another great deal on the Nexus 4. The handset is now up for sale once again for just $50 with a new contract. You have to pay $100 upfront but you will receive $50 back in a mail-in rebate. The activation fee will be waved as well. There’s a few powerful devices coming to the market soon but you won’t go wrong by getting a Nexus. A new image of Samsung’s newest member of the Note family has been leaked. It looks like Samsung will be launching a Charcoal Black version of the Galaxy Note 8.0 at some point. A new press image of the device has been exposed and looks great. I can see this color option being more popular than the original and dark color bezel normally is more desired for tablet computing devices. We’re not sure when Samsung will launch this color option, we’ll be on the ground live at the upcoming Samsung event in NYC. According to a tweet from Verizon Support, the Galaxy Nexus is in line for an update. The update is said to come directly from Samsung so we’re not sure what it could be. There’s a good chance that it’s just a quick bug fix but it could be the long awaited Android 4.2.2 update. Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus still hasn’t received Android 4.2.1 which could be a necessary step before 4.2.2. No release date or any other information was given but an update is on the way.
