Google is currently updating a few Nexus devices. Late last night Android 4.2.2 began its slow rollout. If you own a Nexus 7, 10 or Galaxy Nexus GSM the update is on its way to your device now. Like all updates everyone will not receive it at the same time. But we have you covered, there’s download links below for each respective device so you can install the update now if you can’t wait. You can now get your hands on the best Android phone on the market today for just $49. T-Mobile is now offering the 16GB Nexus 4 for that price for new contracts until February 18th. This is an awesome deal and you might want to place your order for the handset now as there’s a good chance it will sell out yet again since this deal has made its way around the web. There’s a new update now heading out to the original Droid Incredible. The update is said to patch an issue that causes the device to randomly reboot. After the update is applied, the issue should no longer exist but the device will still be sitting at Android 2.3 Gingerbread. HTC might be looking to continue the One brand when they released the much rumored HTC m7. EVLeaks just tweeted that he device will simply be called the HTC One when it launches. Devices rarely maintain their codename when they are released officially to the public. The HTC M7 name was bound to be dropped at some point. This and more will be revealed in a few weeks at HTC’s event in NYC. I expect EVLeaks to release a press image for the device soon. Read the rest of this entry »

It looks like its update day. Sony has approved the Jelly Bean update for the Xperia T and V. Android 4.1 could be rolling out to the devices as early as today. If you own one of these handsets you can check now to see if the update is available to you. Android 4.1 for these and upcoming Xperia devices includes an update to the Album, Walkman, Camera and Movie apps. You will also gain the ability to search your app collection through the newly search bar. Updates to the UI and more are included with the launch of Android 4.1. The rest of qualifying Xperia devices will receive their own update to Jelly Bean in the coming months. The Xperia TX will be updated in March. Read the rest of this entry »

Samsung is now pushing out the Android 4.1.2 update out to the Galaxy S II. The update will be going out in stages like most updates so your device might not receive it today. Gone is the old interface from the Touchwiz and the Nature UX version of Samsung’s custom skin is along for the ride. If you own one of these devices you can check for the update now in the settings menu. The carrier branded devices will receive the update at a later date.

One of the best games for iOS will soon be available for Android. The Sandbox is coming soon and the game should be available by the end of the month. In this game, you can build your own universe with your own music and more. If you don’t like how things turn out, you can destroy the world and start over. Game emulators have been around for Android devices for years. It looks like one of the best gaming emulators for PC’s will be ported over to Android and this will add tons of great games to our favorite mobile OS. Dolphin emulator is a popular game emulator that runs Nintendo Wii and GameCube games. There’s a group of developers currently working on this project and they’ve made some tremendous strides. OUYA will be shipping their new gaming console to customers who backed them while the was a Kickstarter sometime next month. More devices will be heading out in April. If you want to get your hands on the device, it will be sold at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop for $99. The latter three outlets will offer the second controller at the price of $50. OUYA and Amazon will not touch the price, you’ll be able to grab a second controller for just $30. This is going to be one interesting little device. Do you plan on purchasing one?

Two new entry-level devices have been announced today from Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame are now official. Both devices looks like a scaled down version of the Galaxy S 3 ad they both run Android 4.1. TouchWiz, 1GHZ processor and Samsung Apps round out both devices.
