The US bound Galaxy Tab 10.1 has just passed the FCC. This version has been slapped with the model number GT-P7510. You may remember this version from Samsung’s event that was held in late March. It is thinner than the Galaxy Tab 10.1 v1 that’s headed to certain parts of the world with the concave backplate. It’s also priced right with a jump-off price of $499 for the 16GB model. The question now is what carrier or retailer will offer the slate? My guess would be Best Buy and all the major carriers should have their own 3G/4G version real soon.

Google has just activated the official Google I/O app in the Android Market. This app is free and it’s great for more information and aiding in scheduling the events you wish to attend. And judging from the picture above, it’s been optimized for tablet use. This event is going to be the best yet. Expect a lot of new Android announcements to be made. Google Shopper has just been updated to version 1.4. This updates brings a new UI to the app and few other nice features. This app utilizes your camera to identify products and search the web or your local area for the best deals on the product. You can now scan magazine ads and look for featured items. This update also adds the ability to scan QR Codes, has bug fixes, better product filtering and a new start screen. Gingerbreak pays off again, this time it has been used to achieve root access for the LG Optimus Black. This device is a very powerful Android device that should make its way here to the states soon.
