Lenovo has officially announced the IdeaPad K1 and the ThinkPad Honeycomb tablets. Both devices run Android 3.1 and they will be available soon. The ThinkPad will be the first out of the gate on August 2nd for $479. That price gets you the slate sans stylus and 16GB of storage. For $509 you can get stylus with the same amount of storage. The 32GB version will run you $589 and it includes the stylus. The IdeaPad K1 includes 32GB of storage and retail for $499. This tablet will ship with Netflix support and it arrives sometime in Q3. I must say, I didn’t expect T-Mobile to move so fast with this update. We just found the leaked build of Gingerbread for the myTouch 4G and just a few short days later, the official update has begun. If you’re the owner of one of these devices, you should be getting an OTA notification soon. And to prepare for the update, flash your handset back to stock firmware. Netflix might be rolling out support for more devices at a slower rate than we would like but at least its supported device list is growing. There’s now support for 24 Android handsets and the list is only going to get larger in the near future. We’d love to see support for more tablets, which is surely in the works. They are now extending their service to Android App Stores to hunt down malware and viruses before you get the chance to download them on your handset. We know everybody and their grandmother is jumping on the 3D bandwagon so it makes “Sense” the HTC will be implementing this feature in a new tablet. But is this the first picture of said device? It could just be a Photoshop mock-up or it could be a shot of the rear cover of the Flyer 2. Google Maps has just received another nice update for a few our friends overseas. If you live in London, Paris, Barcelona, Stockholm, Singapore, Lisbon, Boulder, and 11 major cities in South Africa., you now have access to 3D rendered buildings in the Google Maps. This featured was announced with Honeycomb and the Motorola XOOM and its been available here in the US since the top of the year. Support for more locations will be implemented soon. Today’s the big day for all of you that have your eyes on the myTouch 4G Slide. T-Mobile has officially opened up the preorders for the device. It’s scheduled to hit shelves on July 27th. There’s a really good chance that you’ll receive yours a few days early if you place your preorder soon. The myTouch 4G Slide retails for $499 without a contract and $199 with a new 2 year agreement.
