New images of an unannounced Motorola phone have been leaked by EVLeaks on Twitter. The device looks like the Motorola handset we seen a few months back but this version is incased in some sort of protective shell. We’re not sure what this device is but the image below might give us some insight on the device. It says it’s the XFONE for AT&T. its running stock Android and that’s about all we can tell from the images.

I got a chance to check out the G-Form XTREME case for the Samsung Galaxy S 4. This is a unique looking rugged case that features new technology called RPT – Reactive Protection Technology. This technology is said to stiffen up when you drop the device and it should absorb 90% of the impact keeping your handset nice and safe. Facebook Home is now live in the Google Play Store. If you live in the US and have a supported device, you can get a taste of the UI from the HTC First. The app is free and you need to be running Android 4.0 or higher to download. It looks like the Optimus G2 from LG is coming to the US real soon. T-Mobile will be getting the device and it has been spotted in benchmark tests. A few details about the device were uncovered in the results. It will be powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 and Android 4.2.2. No pricing or release date hasn’t been announced but you T-Mobile will likely offer this device for $99 down payment and $20 a month for 24 months. It will be able to take advantage of T-Mobiles no contract plans.
T-Mobile is looking to shake up the mobile industry with today’s move. The company will be switching over to a no contract business model and they will do so with these new Simple Choice Plans. They start at just $50 a month for unlimited talk, text and web. That price includes 500MB of data, unlimited data starts out at $70 for individual plans and $120 for family plans. All of these plans include tethering and you can take advantage of them starting now.
With the exception of the Nexus One, the Nexus line of devices hasn’t been the most powerful devices around. The Nexus 4 had a nostalgic feeling as far as specs goes for a few months when it was released but it will be outclassed real soon once the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One hits the streets. That’s why this latest rumor of the Nexus 5 seems semi-legit.
A new render of what is said to be the Motorola X Phone has been leaked. This image is most likely fake but it does look great. It said to feature a 4.7 inch 720p display with an edge-to-edge design. Other specs include a Snapdragon 800 CPU, 4,000mAh battery and no microSD card slot. The phone is rumored to be water proof, has a Gorilla Glass 3 display and its constructed out of a metal chassis. Motorola is expected to bring this device to Google I/O so we’ll find out for sure if its real there.

LG has just earned another feather in their hat for the LG Optimus 2X. The folks over at Guinness organization have just issued them a certificate, excuse me a “World-Record†for being the first dual-core device to be released in the world. There was even a ceremony where LG received an award for this accomplishment. Sprint has finally decided to make it official. The Wi-Fi only Motorola Xoom will be making its way to Sprint on May 8th. The 10.1 inch Honeycomb slate will cost $599 just like the other Wi-Fi only Xoom’s. There’s no mention of a 4G model or if this model will receive an upgrade to 4G. Shazam just announced a deal with eBay that brings a few cool new features to the music identification app. You can now tag unlimited songs without upgrading to Shazam Pro for $4.99. The update brings Shazam to version 3.0 and it includes Shazam Friends for free. Verizon just alerted Engadget that their 4G network is back up and running. No explanation on the cause of the outage has been announced. VZW says their engineers found the issue and “quickly†resolved the problems. Now we’re waiting to find out if Droid Charge will be released today. So far, sales of device have been halted. Stay tuned for updates on this situation.
Rogers Wireless now has the Xperia Arc and Xperia Play up for sale. You can purchase both devices now for $99 with a 3 year contract. The off contract price for both devices are $550. Yesterday we told you about HSUPA being enabled thanks to our mod community, if you’re not rooted and are looking for a more official fix, you’re in luck. Motorola is testing an official update that will enable HSUPA for users that are still running stock firmware. Email, Skype and the Happening Widget among other things will be improved as well. The Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer has just passed through the FCC. We should see this device in-store soon. It will retail for $499 and it features a 7 inch screen, Gingerbread tailor made for tablets and stylus support with a few apps built to utilize stylus inputs. Best Buy recently started accepting preorders for this device so it could be released real soon. You should be able to pick up this tablet with no problems when it’s released, I doubt there will be a shortage unless the supply is limited.
