Another Honeycomb tablet is currently being updated to Android 3.1. The Acer Iconia Tab A500 now has access to the latest version of Honeycomb. This update improves the multitasking capabilities and add USB host. Resizable widgets, bug fixes are also included. Feel free to let us know if you now have access to Google Movies in the Android Market after this update. So far the Motorola Xoom is the only tablet that can see the Movies tab. We haven’t heard much about this handset since the last time we heard that will be delayed. And guess what? It has been delayed yet again. Sony Ericsson has just announced that they will be withholding this device until Q4. By the time this handset is released, it will be completed overpowered and outdated. Go get it now, Google Maps 5.7 has been released. This update brings with it transit navigation beta for over 400 cities worldwide. This is great for those of us that travel often, you’ll always have the most up to date information on the local subway and bus schedules. Popular European music streaming service Spotify, is coming stateside soon. And the best news is, you can sign up for an invite now before the app even arrives. This service allows you to sync your music across your PC, the web and your Android handset. It provides a service similar to Slacker or Pandora. It’s pretty safe to say that the Droid bionic is a go. Best Buy’s upcoming ad for the aforementioned handset has just been leaked. This ad also confirms a few specs for the device. You can expect an HDMI with full mirroring capabilities, dual cameras and a dual-core processor. I just wish there was a price and a release date attached to this document as well. If you’re in the UK follow Gameloft on Twitter and Facebook now. This weekend they will be giving away three games starting Friday and running until Sunday. Each day you will only have a 2 hour window to join in on the fun so you need to follow them to be notified what you have to do to get your lot of games. Samsung is sending the galaxy S II down under. Telstra has just announced that they will be carrying Sammy’s new flagship device. It will release on July 26th for AU$840. Telstra claims that their network has faster data speeds and the handset offers an improved UI experience. LG has just begun to send out the Gingerbread update to the Optimus One in certain markets. Russia, Romania and Chile will be the first to receive this update. But the fun doesn’t stop there, “The whole family OPTIMUS be updated to the next version of Android”. That means that every version of this handset here in the US will be receiving this update at some point. This is great news considering there’s an Optimus One variant on every major network and a few regional carriers as well. So far, no time-frame has been set for the rest of the devices. Wal-Mart has just knocked $100 of the price of the Wi-Fi only Motorola XOOM> you can now purchase this device for only $499 which should’ve been the launching price.
