The developer of TweetComb and Newsr has just decided to make both of these apps free. And in one of the most gracious moves by a developer, he’s offering refunds to everyone who purchased the apps. Both of these apps are great for tablets and if you haven’t tried them yet, I highly recommend you do so now. We wish Chris Stewart the best in all of his future ventures as an Android developer and will keep a vigilant eye out for anything that he has in the making. You don’t see moves like this one every day in the harsh world of business. Read the rest of this entry »

All touch devices might be the in thing now but flip phones still have a huge following. Sharp is looking to cover that segment of the market with their latest offering. The Sharp AQUOS 007SH is a flip phone that runs Android. This device takes flip phones to the next level with its 3D 3.4 inch display. It also features 16.1MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, wireless AQUOS TV and it runs Android 2.3. It’s headed to Japan, so far there are no plans to bring this device to other parts of the world. I think it’ll be fairly successful if it made an appearance here in the US. Read the rest of this entry »

Now this price is more like it. Amazon has the Droid Charge on sale for $199, this is the price we all expected to shell out for this device when it launched. Unfortunately Verizon or Samsung feels we should have to pay $300 with a 2 year contract for this handset which isn’t going to fly. We’ve been hearing from our Verizon insider that the Droid Charge is a dud as far as sales goes and that’s clearly a direct correlation of the pricing scheme. Nobody wants to pay $300 for today’s “Superphone” when they can get a more powerful or equivalent device for a $100 less. Kudos to Amazon for stepping up and selling this handset for the correct price.

Orange UK is now sending an update to Android 2.2 out to Galaxy Apollo owners. This update is about 6 months late but I guess in this case, it’s better late than never. It’s a good chance that this is last update for this device. It wasn’t on the list of Samsung devices that’s in-line for a Gingerbread update. There’s a good chance that if you’re rooted, you will receive a Gingerbread port thanks to our great modding community. For now, fire up KIES and grab this Froyo update.
