There isn’t many $35 products that can come onto the market are take by storm. It looks like Google’s Chrome Cast has done just that. The device quickly sold out and that has helped the device gained the attention of some of the biggest names in streaming media content. Vimeo and Redbox Instant are almost a lock to join the party. Two new Samsung tablets have been rumored to be on the way. Both the devices will feature a high res 2560×1600 display. The SM-P900 is said to be a massive 12.2 inch device with Samsung’s Octa-core processor and S-Pen functionality. The other device is said to be a 10.1 incher with the same display resolution and its powered by a Snapdragon 800. Those are some pretty high-end specs for a tablet, these will be the perfect follow-up device to the Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Tab 3 family. Read the rest of this entry »

07/11/2013 Sun Valley Allen and Company Conference

Google is known for a quick turn around when it comes to new device announcements and selling them on that same day. It looks like they could be going for the same strategy with the newly acquired Motorola. The company will announce the Moto X this Thursday and the latest rumors suggest that the device could go up for sale on that same day. Retailers have already reportedly received their stock and they will be ready to go if you want a black or white version of the device. The custom colors and materials on the backplate will still have to be ordered. We’re just a few days away so we’ll see if this turns out to be true. I’d say its a pretty safe bet that it will. T-Mobile just announced yet another option to help customers get the phone they want much easier. Starting tomorrow, you can get a few devices with no money upfront. The only catch is the monthly payments go up a few dollars. If you ask me, this is a great deal and it’s available for JUMP! customers as well. MoDaCo.SWITCH Beta is now open for everyone to try. This is probably the best mod ever released for the HTC One. It allows you to switch between Android 4.2.2 with HTC Sense 5 and stock Android 4.2.2. Most of your data is shared between the two UI environments so you don’t lose anything when you witch except text messages. There’s a few small bugs being worked out but overall, it’s a solid daily driver type of mod. I’ve been running it on my HTC One since it was released and it performs beautifully. We heard a few times that Verizon, Sprint and AT&T will be getting the Moto X. it looks like T-Mobile will be joining in on the fun as well. A new Moto X variant with T-Mobile compatible bands has just cleared the FCC. This version can be used on all portions of T-Mobile’s network including their new LTE network. We’re not sure when this device will be released, it could turn out to be an unlocked device but if you’re on T-Mobile and have your eyes on the Moto X, this is the version you’ll want to grab. Google’s popular new media streaming dongle has just received its very own teardown. The device has been sold out since the first day t was available and for just $35 and a few cool features, it’s not hard to understand why. The guys ever at iFiXiT just posted a tear down/repair instructions for the device. It revealed that the small dongle has 512MB of RAM, Marvell DE3005-A1 System-on-a-chip, and 4GB of internal storage and WLAN, Bluetooth, FM combo module. It looks like the retailers starting selling the Nexus 7 FHD earlier than expected. Google is even shipping orders now as well. If you want the device sooner, you can grab it now from Best Buy or from Amazon. If you get the device from staple you can save off both options. Amazon also has the device up for sale. The New Nexus 7 is finally official and it’s a beauty. The device features an updated 1080p 7 inch display, stereo speakers, Android 4.3 and a new 5MP shooter on the rear. Google says the device will ship in the coming weeks. The Wi-Fi only models will set you back just $229 and $269 for the 16 and 32GB version respectively. There’s also an LTE model on the way that can be used on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon LTE.
