Earlier today Google announced a new media streaming device. Chromecast is a go and the dongle costs just $35. It also includes 3 free months of Netflix and it can stream media from iOS devices, Android, Mac and Windows. Google even updated a few aps with Chromecast support, Play Movies and Music can be streamed to the unit starting today. Amazon also has the device up for sale and a few lucky customers might receive their device as early as tomorrow. Will you be picking up one of this device? Motorola is now sending out invites for the official unveiling of the Moto X. in the invite you can see the black and white version of the device. We’re just a few short weeks away from the official announcement, all of the rumors and speculations will soon be put to bed. Toshiba just unleashed 3 new 10 inch tablets. The Excite Pure is the most affordable of the bunch coming in at just $250 for the Tegra 3 powered slate. You can get the Excite Pro with the Tegra 4 and a 2560×1600 10.1 inch display for as low as $507 and the Excite Write with similar specs and a pen input display comes in at $600. It wouldn’t be an Android news day without a leak for the upcoming Nexus 7. A few of the main specs for the device have reportedly leaked. Wireless charging and 1080p video playback on through the slim port are the biggest features we haven’t heard before. The device could be up for sale as early as July 31st. retail shops could receive their shipments as early as July 24th. We already have a few apps that can allow you to control your desktop from your Android phone but it looks like the Chromium team is building an official app for Android to just that. The app is in its early stages of development now but if you would like to help development, you can start by clicking here. You can find some hidden gems on Craigslist and sometimes you get lucky enough to come by a steal like this one. A Nexus 4 was reportedly purchased of Craigslist and it had Android 4.3 preinstalled on the device. That ROM has been pulled from the device and you can now flash it to your Nexus 4 if you’re rooted. This seems like the real deal and everyone who has flashed it seems to be quite satisfied with the decision. Since this is an official build from Google, there may be a few bugs here and there. The Moto X isn’t expected to have high-end device horsepower but it does have a home field advantage. The device will be built right here in the good ole US of A. Google and Motorola has just given us our first look inside the Texas based factory that will produce the device. Hopefully it turns out to be a hit and more devices can be produced from Motorola and potentially other manufactures on American soil. Google is expected to announce the Moto X and a few other devices and maybe a new version of Android next week. Today, we might have just found out what date the device will be launched. An internal memo from US Cellular says the handset will be up for sale on August 26th. The device will be sent out in waves from US Cellular and we’ll find out if this date sticks come next week.
