Wouldn’t it be nice to know of your newly purchased Android device will be updated to the latest version of Android? I’ll answer that for you, it sure would. If you purchased one of these devices from Samsung you’ll be delighted to learn that they will receive an update to Android 4.0. Check out the list of devices below.
Samsung announced that most of their GALAXY line of devices will be updated to Android 4.0. The GALAXY S II, GALAXY S II LTE, GALAXY Note, GALAXY R, GALAXY Tab 10.1, GALAXY Tab 8.9, GALAXY Tab 7.7, and GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus all will receive an update sometime in the first half of the 2012. These devices make up most of their 2011 lineup.
Samsung states that the e update will be subject to carrier conditions as well as regional demand. Does that mean that your device will be update? Unfortunately not, at the end of the day the update is done at the leisure of the carrier. But if you have Samsung version of the device without carrier branding then you’re all set.
