I seriously tried to avoid posting any of this patent dispute nonsense no matter how much traffic it might bring to the sit but things are getting past ridiculous at this point. I’m sure most of you have herd by now that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the latest victim to be banned from sale in a patent dispute between Samsung and Apple.
Google’s flagship device was pulled from shelves before an official trial was even conducted. Samsung quickly filed an appeal to lift the ban and it looks like that will not happen. The previous ruling is still in affect and the Galaxy Nexus cannot be sold here in the US.
Google however is working on a software patch that could go out to devices as early as tonight that will dumb down the search function of the phone. This will make the device comply with the search patent for now until a trial and an official judgment on the case has been reached.
With this latest attack on Android from Apple just shows how much iOS has fallen behind Android and will likely never catch up. To attack a device that’s been on the market for around 9 months is ridiculous. Moves like this is just another reason why I have never and will never purchase anything Apple. The entire culture of that company needs to change now and all of this bad press over them being a sore loser is even turning traditional Apple lovers against them.
