The stock battery inside the Samsung Galaxy S 3 isn’t a slouch by any means. For the average user it will easily get them through the day and maybe even a few hours of the following day. But for you power users out there or those of you who use your device for heavy media consumption, you may need a battery that offers more power than the stock battery. SEIDIO has a great option if you want to use your device heavily without worrying about the battery dying on you.

There are two options for the 3500mAh extended battery for the Samsung Galaxy S 3. One comes equipped with NFC for $5 more and there’s an option sans NFC for $69.95. If you do some shopping around you might find a few deals where you can get the batteries at a cheaper rate. Both options ships with an extended battery case.

The case has a soft touch coating which I love. My phone normally comes with me on road trips and I like to sit down on the arm rest. The soft touch coating allows you to drive and place the device on the arm rest without it sliding around the vehicle. It also feels better in the hand when compared to the slippery plastic door you get on the stock device. There’s a hump on the case and that actually makes holding the device feel more natural. None of the buttons, camera, flash or anything is blocked with the case on the device and it provides a nice new look to the handset.

Most extended batteries add bulk and weight to the device and this combo is no exception. You can expect roughly an additional 7 ounces of weight to the Galaxy S 3 with the battery and door installed. It also adds quite a bit of thickness to the handset as well. It by no means makes the device look hideous but if you’re into ultra-thin devices, this combo isn’t for you.

But, if you’re reading this article then you’re here for the extra battery life and not look and that’s where the SEIDIO 3500mAh battery shines. In my testing I managed to get an average of 30 hours of heavy to moderate use out of my device with nearly 7 hours of screen on time with the brightness set around 75% and screen timeout set to 2 minutes. With this battery you can easily spend hours gaming, browsing the web and listening to music and it will easily get you throughout the day. All of you light to normal usage individuals out there you can expect more than 2 days of battery life. Once the battery does drain it’ll charge up in a few hours and it charges just as fast as the stock battery. If you’re a power user, this battery will serve your needs just fine.
