T-Mobile UK has just updated their Galaxy Portal to Android 2.1. This phone looks almost identical to the Behold 2 which was seemingly abandoned by Samsung. Before you get your pitchforks back out, the Portal has a beefier processor, 800MHZ versus 528 MHZ in the Behold 2 and it has around 30MB more RAM.
“Just to make you all aware if you don’t know already, the Android 2.1 update for the Portal has now been approved and is available for download via the Samsung PC Studio software nowâ€
Previously, the Galaxy Portal was stuck on 1.5 just like the Behold 2. It’s taking a huge jump from cupcake to Éclair. The Portal is a vanilla Android device maybe that also played a factor in this handset getting the Éclair update. If you’re in the UK, click here for more information.
