That took a bit of time, the Sony X10 has finally been rooted. The 1.6 powered device may finally get to taste Froyo or Android 2.1 by way of custom ROM’s. This handset hit the market a little later than I would’ve like, but it still has a bit of a cult following. X10 owners should start receive a few goodies from the development community in the near future.
Sony has stated that this phone will receive Android 2.1 later this year. By the time it does get here, there will be a few phones running Gingerbread including the nexus one which should get it first. The development community will surely have 2.1 and even 2.2 running on the X10 far sooner than the official build. I recommend every X10 user root their device and don’t sit back and wait for the official update. If you do your handset will fall further and further behind other android devices. To root you device click here and enjoy.
