It’s now confirmed, the latest update to the Samsung Galaxy S 3 for Verizon does remove universal search from the device. This shouldn’t come as a surprise as Samsung has been hard at work making their latest flagship device ban proof. If you would like to keep the feature, just simply reject the update. There’s also a few much need fixes in the update so you’ll be missing out on those if you do reject the update. I don’t think you’ll miss it that much anyway.
