It’s widely known that Verizon is an expensive carrier but their service is strong almost everywhere you go. For the longest we’ve heard rumblings that VZW could initiate a tired data plan similar to what AT&T has already done. We now have more information on how these new data plans will work and how much they will cost. For now, take this information with a grain of salt until VZW makes an official announcement themselves.
Most smart phones will still have the option of using the “Vcast Pak†with unlimited WAP 2.0 data for $15 a month. The “Data for Everyone†package includes a fee of $1.99 per MB and will be billed at a rate of $15 for the first GB and $10 for each additional GB. There’s a new “Droid Data†package that will cost $29.99 a month for 5GB and $10 per GB overage fees which could be offset if you purchase a Mobile Broadband plan. These figures seem like a lot but Verizon expects the average user’s data rate to go down. But if you’re a power user like me then you will be charged accordingly, I use between 5 and 10 GB’s a month and couldn’t see myself paying nearly $89 a month just for data. Looks like ill be sticking with T-Mobile for their unlimited data. How do you feel about these rumored rates? Is it too much or justifiable?
